Lola's Cupcakes

First time I saw Top Shop is selling cupcakes. I didn't try any of it during my first visit to this shop but the shining cupcakes are so unforgettable. I kept thinking of it. Recently I went there again, and this time I tried 2 type of their flavour. I didn't get any shinning cupcake and the end. It's because I was there before their closing, so not much of choices left.

The packing

Chocolate milk - chocolate cupcake with pure vanilla bean icing and chocolate pieces

Rocky road - marble vanilla & chocolate cake smothered with marshmallows, nuts and milk chocolate buttons

The chocolate cupcake is slightly bitter and it goes well with the vanilla icing. It's a perfect match!

The marshmallows gave a special texture to the cupcake. You can feel the softness of the cake, the sponginess of the marshmallow and the crunchiness of the chocolate button.  It's fun to eat it!

Lola's cupcakes are beautiful and delicious. It's really different from the cupcakes I tried before.

Tang Yuan

My  family will celebrate dumpling festival every year. If  it is on weekends, for sure I will go back to home town and celebrate with my family. If I'm not able to go back, I will still have tang yuan on this special day. Sometimes I will get the frozen tang yuan from hypermarket. This year, I made it!

Plain and filled tang yuan with ginger syrup

It's hard for me to make the peanut filling because I don't have a food processor. I used crunchy peanut butter as a replacement. It taste salty but it goes well with the ginger syrup.

Roasted Reared Pig Soft Bap

German theme Christmas market in Southampton this year. There is plenty of stalls selling food like Greman sausages, burgers, Indian food, Chinese noodles, Thai food, doughnuts and ...... For sure I'll try something new, so I chose the roasted reared pig.

Beside the pork, I added the stuffing, apple sauces and crisps on top of the soft bap. The pork is juicy but I'm not really into the apple sauces. The crisp actually is the skin, it's so crispy and tasty.

Childhood Pancake

My grandma and mum made this for tea-time when I was young. I think this is the 1st dessert I made in my life. Since I'm the eldest of my 3 siblings during primary, I used to made this for them while my mum having her nap. I made it today, just enjoy the moment of mixing  the batter and flipping it in the pan. The sound is like a melody, it bring me back to the memory land.

Creamy Carbonara

I'm not a big fan of carbonara before this until I tired it at a restaurant in KL. During that night my friend ordered carbonara penne and she offered me to try it. After that, the fragrance and the taste made me love it.

I made my own and it's simple yet delicious.

I like it with spaghetti or penne.

Ingredients
Spaghetti / Penne - 1 portion (cooked)
Mushroom - 2-3, and slice it
Smoked bacon - cut into square
Carbonara sauces - 2 tablespoons ( any brand as you prefer)
Water - 1 tablespoons
Olive oil - a little bit

1. Heat up the pan and add in the mushroom without oil. Fry both side until golden brown. Set a side.
2. Add some olive oil to the pan and put in the bacon. Fry until golden brown.
3. Now add in the mushroom back to the pan.
4. Add the carbonara sauce and water.
5. Turn to the low fire and let it simmer for 1 min.
6. Turn off the fire, add the spaghetti/penne and stir well.
7. Sprinkle some black pepper to enhance the flavour. Skip it if you doesn't like it.

Forget about diet and enjoy it!

Ingredients :
Mayonnaise - 2 1/2 tablespoons
Honey -  1 tablespoon
Mustard - 1/4 teaspoon (depends how strong the taste you prefer, I like it mild.)

Mix it well.

My sandwich (picture above) : Turkey breast, tomato, red onion, iceberg lettuce, cucumber with toasted wholemeal bread and Honey Mustard Sauce.

The Coffee Gelato

I visited London last month and I been to this gelato shop- Amorino as our dessert of that freezing night. It was too cold to have gelato, so 3 of us decided to share one. I was so regret that i didn't have one for my own!

The speciality of them is you can choose as many flavour as you like to scope in the cup. We had chocolate, pistachio, coffee and mango. I'm a chocolate lover but the coffee gelato here is awesome! Pistachio is a must try too.

They serve 28 flavours of hot chocolate.
I will defiantly go back for the coffee gelato! Ciao!
